What is your turn around time on orders?Ready to ship products - clothing, cloth diapers, and gifts/ornaments are already complete and ready to ship. These items typically ship within 1 week of ordering. Made to order clothing and cloth diapering products are usually ready to ship within 2 - 4 weeks depending on the number and size of orders I have. Custom handmade ornaments are usually ready to ship within 5-7 business days. Turnaround times are not guaranteed as I am the only employee, and a full time stay at home mama to a preschooler, a toddler, and a baby plus a bonus teenager! If you need to receive your item by a certain date, please contact me via email abuandco@hotmail.com and I will do my best to accommodate.

My kids or I have sensitivities or hate tags in clothing. Do you have tagless options?Yes! Tagless clothing is available to meet any sensory need - these items will have compliance and tracking information stamped into the interior of the shirt, or onto a square of fabric that is sewn into the back of the article of clothing.

Do you take custom orders?Yes, custom orders are my favourite! If you would like something I don’t currently offer on my shop – be it fabric, print, colour, or product, please send an email to abuandco@hotmail.com or message our Facebook page www.facebook.com/abuandcoboutique. Please include as many details as you can for what you're looking for - I love to make your dreams come true.

Will my product look exactly as shown?Due to differences in how colors show up on different screens, the color of your product may not be exactly as it appears and may have some color variation. Additionally, size of the fabrics print on images may not accurately reflect the actual size of the print received. This is not considered a defect and will not qualify for a return or exchange. If you have questions about print size, you are welcome to contact me via email abuandco@hotmail.com.

How can I make sure to pick the right size?To assure the correct size is selected when ordering, please use the attached size chart for that item. Some items will include a size chart in the product photos as well. If this is the case, please use the chart, as sizing for handmade items (especially for larger kids and all ladies sizes) can be very different than standard sizing found in shopping malls.

How do I need to wash my item before using?All fabric is fully prepped and washed with Tide powder before sewing to remove natural oils from the fibers and to minimize shrinkage. Your item is ready to use immediately upon arrival, but it is always recommended to wash once before using to remove any residue from sewing and to prevent issues that may arise from detergent sensitivity. Absorbency of preflats, boosters, and inserts will continue to increase over the next 4-8 washes.

Do I really need all sizes of preflats and boosters?Yes and no. In my experience, it is difficult to get a One Size preflat to correctly fit babies under 12lbs, and it can be especially difficult to achieve a good “leg seal”. Newborn size preflats and boosters are specifically designed to fit from preemie until about 15lbs. Newborn sized or Small boosters and inserts can be used as long as you feel comfortable with it! Because they are smaller and more narrow than One Size, they will not hold quite as much liquid or fit into pockets as well as their One Size counterparts. One size boosters and inserts may be bulky on newborns, but can usually fit from about 7lbs.

Where do you source your fabrics?We love to support local! Most of our knit fabric is sourced from Canadian shops and/or designed by Canadian artists when possible, with the exception of PUL (covers, pods, wet bags) and Zorb (boosters).

What is your return/exchange policy?Returns: Due to the nature of cloth diapers and made-to-order products, most items cannot be accepted for return or refund. If there is an issue with an order, customers must contact Abu and Co via email abuandco@hotmail.com, within 3 days of the item being received with a detailed description of defects, incorrect items, or other issues. Exchanges: Exchanges will only be honoured in the event that Abu and Co sent an incorrect item in your order. Customers must contact me via email within 3 days. Once verified, the customer will have 2 options: Ship item back to me in original condition – unwashed, unworn, no pet hair or odors. Once received and inspected, I will send the correct item. If returned items are found not to be in original and re-sellable condition, the item will not be eligible for an exchange. Keep the item and receive a 50% refund. Order cancellations: If you would like to cancel an order that you have just placed, please send an email to abuandco@hotmail.com as soon as possible. In the event that your order is already in process, a 20% restocking fee will apply to ready to ship (RTS) items. Due to the nature of made to order items, no refund will be available if the item is already in process. Thank you for your understanding.

What if my product has a defect or error when I receive it?Each item is handmade to order from my smoke free home in central Alberta. Slight variations (up to 1 cm) are to be expected and will not affect function. These are not considered defects and do not qualify for this error policy. If you feel your item has a defect, please contact us via email at abuandco@hotmail.com with a description and photos of the defect within 3 days of delivery. Once verified, the customer will have 3 options: I will send you a return label. The item will be shipped back as soon as possible, corrected, and shipped as soon as possible, based on the current workload. If you do not wish to have your item fixed, you will receive a 20% refund to lower the cost of the item to our “Perfectly Imperfect” price. If your item is unable to be fixed and Abu and Co no longer has sufficient fabric to replace the item, you will receive a full refund for the item, minus the shipping cost.

What if my order is late or never received?Due to occasional interruptions in postal service, your item may arrive later than expected. If your order has not arrived within one week of the estimated delivery window or is damaged/lost in transit, you will need to file a claim directly with the postal service. Please note, that it is the customer’s sole responsibility to pay any import customs, taxes, and/or duties that may be due upon delivery.

What is your safety and compliance policy?All of our products are designed to be safe and comfortable for you and your family. Each new fabric base we bring in has been tested for flammability or exempt based on fibers to meet safety requirements for children's clothing. All products that leave my home are identical in composition ones used/worn by my family, but please note that any products you choose to order from Abu and Co Boutique are used at your own risk. Abu and Co Boutique, myself, and my family will not be held liable for any reactions, injury, or death that may result from or while wearing/using our products.
